Repose Institute

The most complex problems facing our communities deserve more than the frameworks we've already tried.

Repose Institute supports communities in building resilience by developing, advancing, and implementing non-traditional thinking in traditional spaces.

The Problems We Address

The organizations and people doing the hardest community work are navigating underfunded systems, carrying generations of complexity, and building toward something that should outlast instability. They rarely have access to the depth of thinking their challenges actually require. Dominant problem-solving frameworks were not built for this work. Repose Institute exists to change that.

traditional FRAMEWORKS ALONE ARE NOT ENOUGH

We develop, pressure-test, and advance non-traditional approaches to complex community problems, drawing on novel, traditional, and historic ways of knowing, and support their implementation inside the systems where communities actually live.

What the Institute Does

Four Interconnected Functions

A row of leafless trees with thin branches stands against a cloudy sky, with a barren, reddish ground and rocks in the foreground.
A bird with black and white feathers flying over a rocky landscape with mountains in the background and a cloudy sky above.

Developing and pressure testing non-traditional approaches to the complex problems communities face.

Building the next generation of community-rooted systems thinkers and independent leaders.

Close-up of flowering desert plant with orange-red blossoms and sharp thorns, with mountains and a clear blue sky in the background.
Looking up at a tall, weathered tree with sparse green foliage, set against a bright blue sky with the sun shining.

Making the thinking accessible and translating complexity into ideas that communities and practitioners can act on.

Repose Group

A system oriented sister organization

Repose Group is the consulting and fractional leadership practice delivering systems strategy, embedded leadership, and specialized consulting to community-serving organizations. Different entities, shared mission, intentional relationship.

Currently in formation

Repose Institute is actively establishing its 501(c)(3) status and building its foundational structures. We are in early conversations with aligned foundations and community partners. If you share our belief that community resilience requires a different kind of thinking, we'd welcome a conversation.

Let's build something that holds.

We are looking for aligned foundation partners, community advisors, and organizations who see what we see.
